Quick start instructions

You should download the Sigil plugin using the eclipse update feature:

The update site url is:

http://sigil.codecauldron.org/update-site-3.3

Note
This plugin works with the current eclipse version 3.3 the upcoming 3.4 release.

Detailed install instructions

The following are detailed install instructions for those unfamiliar with eclipse updates

Firstly check that you do not have an earlier version of Sigil installed, remove if necessary - instructions here.

Open the update site page Help->Software Updates->Find And Install, this will open the following dialog box:

Select "Search for new features to install" and click next, the following dialog will appear:

Create a "New Remote Site"

In the dialog box enter:

Name: Sigil
URL: http://sigil.codecauldron.org/update-site-3.3

Click OK.

Check that the Sigil update site is selected as shown in the following picture:

Click Finish.

The update manager will scan the Sigil update site and should provide an option to install the Sigil plugin. Select the Sigil SDK feature as shown in the following screenshot:

Click Next.

The following dialog will appear asking you to accept the terms and conditions, read, check you agree then select "Agree" and then click Next.

Choose a download location using the following dialog:

Click Finish.

The Sigil plugins will download:

When the download has completed, install the plugins using the following dialog:

Click Install.

When install is complete the following dialog will appear:

Click Yes to restart Eclipse.

Install is complete.

Archived Installs

For those without direct internet connectivity you can download a zipped archive of the update site here.

Follow the steps above, but instead of creating a "New Remote Site" create a "New Archived Site" and set the path to the location of the downloaded archive on your file system.

Uninstall

In order to uninstall Sigil (or any other eclipse plugin) navigate to the product configuration dialog using the top menu, Help->Software Updates->Manage Configuration.

Expand the install locations using the left hand tree view. Select Sigil in the tree view, right click and select Uninstall.

Restart Eclipse.
